Default Upgrade RX300 to 330 Thundercloud

We were driving by the local Lexus purveyer when the "Finance Minister" suggested that we stop and see what was available - well, just sitting there calling to us, was a nice new Thundercloud 330. Since the Finance Minister suggested the stop, two hours later we drove out with that Thundercloud Edition, which by the way, is NOT Flint Mica colored, but rather a light silvery gray with hints of purple/blue. Have never seen this color in the RX's before, ands the dealership was also a bit puzzled.

Will miss the 300, it was a great vehicle, but I have to admit, the new one is so much improved!

As with others here, just had to pass along the news!

Congrats on the new ride!

The Lexus Web site says the Thundercloud comes in two colors: Flint Mica and Thundercloud Metallic. Based on your description, you've got the latter, and it sounds like it's not the same as Millenium Silver Metallic.

I've heard from a dealer that Lexus is moving toward having a lot of paint colors that aren't a single, flat color, but instead have little flecks and other tricks that make the paint appear to change shades based on the way the light is hitting it.

Thanks RXdriver,

Indeed, the color is Thundercloud Metalic, and very hard to describe, as it changes depending on the angle of the sun. At one point today, actually looked a little lavender. Still, it's unusual enough up here in the Northwest that it has been getting a lot of looks, especially from other 330 owners.

Now all I have to do is study the owners manual and figure out how everything works. Lots of differences from the 2k RX.
