'05 RX330 AWD Top Speed?
On my way to Bullhead, AZ last weekend, I took the RX up to 110 mph. At which point I hit what felt like a rev limiter-feeling loss in power. This happened each time the vehicle hit 110 mph. I was in 5th gear. This was at 2am no traffic on the 40 freeway just before 29 palms. Just curious is there an electronic cut off at 110 mph for the RX?
This came up some time ago... 110 seemed to be the consensus.

Another thread also contained several flaming posts about how dangerous that kind of speed is. Somehow, we all think that we're better drivers than everyone else and we can handle that speed, but then you see rollovers and worse at much lower speeds. Speed kills - if not others, because "nobody's around" - then yourself.

Cool, thanks for the info. I actually did kill a whole bunch of rodents and rabbits on the way to AZ. For some reason they all wanted to come out and cross the freeway at night. At 90mph, they sound like you ran over a Solo drink cup a unique type of thud. Had the carwash place in Bullhead make sure they sprayed down the undercarriage as best as possible. Don't need a whole bunch of dead dried rodents stuck to the underbelly of the RX.
I looked up on the UK and Germany Lexus homepage, and RX300 and RX400h have top speed listed at 124 mph (200 km/h). Not sure if it's drag-related or electronically restricted.
Not sure about the RX but the speed-limiter is related to the traction control module on other Toyota cars built in the late 90s, so if the fuse of the traction control is pulled, then the top speed limiter is gone -- of course, the traction control function is not there anymore as well. Do it at your own risk.
I think an aftermarket piggy-back ECU (like AEM and GReddy eManage) can remove the speed limiter. But why should one take an SUV to go that fast anyway, especially in the US.
