Default CBEST options

I was reading that getting your CBEST (auto retraction of steering wheel, remote windows down, remote sunroof open etc.) options done complimentary was only done for 2005 models. Lexus just says dealers will charge a small fee for getting them done on 04 models. I wonder what a "small fee" would be.

Has anyone with an 04 RX had their CBEST settings altered/added? If so, how much did it cost. I want to get an estimate before I call the dealers.

Thanks

I think you could have them changed within a year of purchase for free. I would guess your dealer might just do it for you free of charge if you didn't know about it ... I believe they're supposed to notify you in some way.

Default on 05's yes, not 04s

Lexus.com says that they do it complimentary for 2005 models within 12 months of purchase. It mentions that the service can be done on an 04, but that it will require a "small fee.

I do not have the vehicle in my possession. I am considering buying an 04 model from a private party, so unfortunately no dealers owe me any favors.

If you plan on servicing your car at a dealer, they might "goodwill" it. I've seen that plenty of times, CBest takes about 20 minutes or so to do. Ask the service consultant when you go in for service. If you plan on doing your own maintenance or having a local mechanic do it, then I guess you will have to pay.

louie, i did my 04 RX c-best settings myself. there is information on this forum about how to do it. i did the one-touch moonroof and all the lock settings on my own. i bought my RX at launch and the dealer hadn't yet figured out how to do any of it, so i did it myself following instructions in the GX forum and it worked beautifully. i didn't want to wait until the 5k service or make a special trip.

even if you have to pay, it is prob very inexpensive. but definitely look around this forum and you will find a ton of info on CBEST settings.

i had a setting changed and i think on the invoice it says 0.4 hour which costs $6.40

but I did it while i'm getting an oil change so they didn't charge me.. and i printed out the 2005 LPS selection form on card stock and gave it to the guy so that it looks like a real form lol

you can find the form here http://www.lexus.com/assets/models/w...ectionForm.pdf
