I thought you never ask....

I think an analog clock is fine if it looks stylish.

Default two different worlds

Again, the FX and RX are marketed to two different sets of people. I actually fall into the marketing for the FX as a twenty-something male, but I prefer the Lexus for whatever reason.

The design of the FX is unique and you will either love it of hate it. I do like it...in fact, the car is quite nice, and it has some features that Lexus should incorporate...such as rear heat vents that are at head level vice the traditional rear of the console level. The back seats of the FX lay down at the pull of a lever which is located near the tail gate instead of having to lower the seats from EACH back door. The intelligent cruise control is functional...and more than 1% of the vehicles have it unlike the Lexus. New ones even come with a primitive lane detection system which warns you that you are crossing into another lane without a blinker. It actually works as I found out the other day. The rear back up camera has a distance meter. Oh, and you can recline the back seats fairly easily when you are sitting in them whereas the RX is an act of congress. The FX even has additional exterior and interior color choices. Not too mention that a man doesn't have to get a dark colored FX so that he doesn't feel like he is driving a chick car!!! Basically, the FX looks like a man car in any color.

Yeah, it has an analog clock, but that is Infiniti tradition, and it works for them. Beat a car up for real reasons. The 62 Cubic Feet of cargo space is not very nice, or with the sporty look comes a harsh ride that lets you feel every bump. Talk about the fact that it requires premium gas and still gets less miles per gallon...and still only manages a 0-60 time of 7.3sec for the FX 35. Yes, it is faster than the Lexus claimed 7.9...and the more realistically achieved RX 8.5sec, but 7.3 is still not really a perfomance number to be proud of. Maybe its lack of a power rear door should be brought up.

Both the RX and FX have room for improvement, but please make your decision based on solid reasons!

Different cars. Simple. We have an RX300 and I had a 04' FX35.... The FX was bought back under the lemon law (god what a PITA)... leaky sunroof, headlights not working, tail lights, radio, interior lights... all kinds of problems. Unlikely you will get the same lemon I had, but IMO lexus service is MUCH better than infiniti. They are much more careful wiuth their cars whereas infiniti service sucks.

If you dont care about service, ask yourself, do you want a sports car or a nice comfy ride? Then you have your answer. The RX has given us no troubles except once a check engine light came on, dropped it off at teh dealer and it was ready the next day, a wire came loose. That is nothing compared to the FX I had in the shop every day.
