Which do RX owners prefer, stock 18" wheels or 17" wheels, and WHY?
Is one more quiet than the other? Do you get better handling from one or the other? Is one better in snow/rain situations? Did you choose 18s because they look better?
You can choose all boxes that apply in the poll, but in addition please discuss why you chose what you chose.

Looks - 100% yes - the 18"s look great. i had the 01 RX with 16's, and IMO the wheel size was one of the biggest improvements in styling.
Snow - they didn't offer 17's in California, only in regions with snow and poor weather i think b/c lower profile tires don't perform as well in snow. BUT, i did take the RX a few times to mammoth lakes for snowboarding, and we left one time in a huge blizzard and it performed quite well. maybe the 17's would have been better, but the RX is very safe in general and the traction control took over if we started sliding.
Rain - never one problem with rain. car is very stable. i have the OEM michelins mud + snow rated tires.
Noise - 17's in theory should be quieter, but i think the difference in noise is negligible.
Performance - not sure. i guess in theory lower profile means better cornering and handling, but i don't corner or drive fast enough in the RX to test that theory.
The stock 18" rims too me look much better than the stock 17" rims. Unfortunately, I had the stock 17's since at the time of purchase the 18" were not available in my state. Doesn't matter much anymore anyway since I recently purchased an affordable set of 20" rims I pan on dropping the RX too anyway so the ride confort is of little concern. Plus, the SUV ride is very plush compared to my other car anyway so I have a feeling it still won't be as harsh a ride in comparison.
