Default 2005 model year production

I'm looking at getting either the 04 or 05 RX330. I was originally going to wait for the 400h but since it’s delayed till April, I don’t think I should trust my current car that long.

Anyway, does anyone know when Lexus changes over to the 05 model year? Are there any changes scheduled for the 05?

I wanted Bluetooth but I have not seen that listed in any of the 330 information I’ve seen so far.

Think I saw on a discussion on another board that Bluetooth capability will be offered. I am with you ... thinking about waiting for the 05s. I was told by a salesperson that it'd be around early Sept for 05s to start rolling in. Probably won't get AS good of a deal on an 05, but might be worth it for the little adjustments made from year to year.

From Edmunds.com

"Got a list of changes for 2005. For the LS the first arrivals (in port, not at dealer) will be 9/7. Only changes will be 18" wheels and tires for all configurations, and the availability of all season tires for 18" rims.
No change except pebble beach edition to SC, no changes at all to LX.
Big addition of options and accessories to ES (arriving 8/4)
new engine 270HP VVTi and sport package for GX (12/8)
RX gets 4th GEn Nav w/bluetooth, HID and AFS packaged topgether but separate from sport pkg, dropped Black Forrest/Gray and Blue Mica/Black (9/2)"

Thanks for the info.

I hope that there will be a way to add bluetooth to the current models but I really don't think that will be possible.

Default Just Stopped At My Dealer

and he had a list of all the changes from the 04s ... yours probably has the same now. They knew of an 05 Lexus on its way to the dealership now ... can't remember the model. They thought the RX would start showing in about a month or so.

Some of the changes I recall that seemed important:

-- Bluetooth will be offered

-- AFS offered separate from the Performance Pkg, but Sales Manager made it sound like AFS would show up on most lots along with the Navigation System; if you want it separately you'd need to order and that might take 4 months.

-- 4th Generation Navigation

-- More Production % will be packaged with Nav than in 04 (up to 40% from 26% last year)

-- Compasses in all rear view mirrors (what ones don't have them now? Maybe the Nav?)

-- Some other ones that seemed minor as far as I recall.

Want to know all ... go to your dealer ... it was a top attached spiral notebook.

2005 RX's that will be sold in Canada will now have rain sensing wipers, 8 way adjustable front passenger seat ( as posted above), and roll over sensing side curtain airbags as standard equipment. Blue-tooth and gen. 4 nav are not mentioned in the changes for 2005.

Aftermarket Bluetooth connectivity is on the way... from Motorola. I do not know if I am able to release the exact product specs, but it should be released in September. It can be installed on any car, and is truly handsfree module, No need to constantly press a button to say your phone commands.

I just received official confirmation that the 2005 RX330, with optional navigation, will be changing to the gen. 4 system and will be Bluetooth compatable .

whats AFS? and are the very tiny differences even worth the extra price from a '04?

edit: and will the transmission problems from the 04's be fixed?

Default 4th Generation Nav

I hate to sound ignorant... but what's the difference between the current NAV system, which I think is one of the best on the market... and the 2005 RX with the "4th Generation NAV???

Here is the 4th Gen NAV Tutorial from LEXUS. Just watch the Tutorial and you'll be able to differentiate
the old Nav and the new 4th Gen NAV. i saw it like last week and it has more features on it basically and you can search a destination with phone numbers now and you can have multiple users each with their own preference and setup. That's all I can remember but Check it out. There's Many more new stuff too it also. and The screen and menus kinda looks a lilttle Different.

If you watch the Broadband version, it reads to you and plus there's animations and demonstrations too for you to see.

There are 5,000,000 points of interest on the 4th Gen Nav compared to 750,000 or so on the 04 models. From the link it looks like the RX -- WILL NOT -- have the voice activated feature.

Also new for '05 -- 8 way power passenger seat as opposed to 6 I beileve.

Adaptive Front Headlights on all models with HID.

so nothing else is different in the '05's besides the 4th gen navigation, AFS, and 8-way power passenger seat? i got quoted $41,000 for a fully loaded '04(minus the levinson and dynamic laser cruise control, but everything else)- so much more would the '05 be, do you guys think?
