Default Oil change procedures?

Does anyone out there do their own oil changes on their RX 330. I haven't crawled under yet to check it out but it looks like ramps or a jack shouldn't be needed. Anyone know if there's a belly pan that needs to be removed and what the oil plug and oil filter access is like? Any procedures and/or pics of where the plug and filter are would be greatly appreciated!

Bob,

Sorry, I haven't gotten to work on a 330 yet to see how much it differs from the 300, but if you want to get an idea of what it takes on the 300 try this RX300 how2 link

Perhaps someone else has some 330 experience to share.

I had the oil changed today and watched as it was done. It's really no big deal and the vehicle doesn't need to be lifted to do it. The oil drain plug is located on the passenger side of the car - it's cover by a hatch held in place with 4 bolts. The drain plug itself is a 12mm. The filter can't be accessed from above. It's in the center of the engine. You have to remove 10 (yes T-E-N) bolts and two plastic clips that secure the panel under the front bumper. Once you remove the panel the filter is readily accessible. The oil change with filter requires 5 quarts of 5W-30 oil. For reference, the Lexus filter is $9.50; the comporable Toyota filter for the 3.3L Highlander is $4.50. Both the Toyota dealer and the Lexus dealer tell me the filters are both the same. Knowing that, I guess I'm not surprised that my Lexus dealer wants $60 for an oil change vs. $25 at the Toyota dealer.

ll try and post some pics when I have a chance.
