fog lights

Anybody put fog lights on their RX330? Which ones did you buy? Can they be put on the front bumper because of the airbag sensors?

My 330 came with fog lights. Bet yours did too. To turn on the fog lights, twist the band of the headlight switch lever to the position of the fog light. The fog lights come on only when the headlights are on low beam.

Is is possible to use the existing HID "ballasts" and replace the fog light halogens with HID bulbs?

Sure, I may do that myself since I have an extra 9006 HID kit laying around. The driving/foglight is a 9006 so any 9006 HID kit will be a drop in. It will be kind of bright though since the optics are not controlled for HID, but they will be used for that "Special" occation anyway

The headlamp HID ballasts cannot be used simultaneously for heads and fogs. Could use a HV relay to switch from one to the other but not both.

RX does come with fogs but since they cannot be used without headlamps they are useless.

Someone here once came up with a circuit for turning on the fogs without headlamps but I think he was banned and all of those posts were deleted.
