Parking Brake Pedal stuck.
Parking brake pedal will not release, no matter how hard I try and push it down. Anyone know how to release it?
This is a foot operated parking brake pdeal - manually operated not an electric one.

The parking brakes on the rear wheels are connected by mechanical cables to the pedal.
Engaged by pressing with your strong leg action and disengaged by a comparatively weak spring.
When the PB is used regularly, the cable remains free to move. If left unused for an extended
period of time, when applied with a stout leg press, the cables bind up. Adding to the problem
is the necessity to press extra far and firm to disengage the ratchet mechanism that holds the PB on.
The solution is both messy and time consuming. Must get fully under the vehicle and find all the
cables (both rear wheels) and spray liberal amounts of penetrating oil into the casing openings.
Good Luck
