I have searched and searched and searched and searched some more, and I can not find any posts other than the FAQ's that have instructions on doing this. It seems (from my search results) that almost every post on here mentions the "pedal dance", but none of them describe how to do it. Here's what the FAQ says...
"start the car with the parking prake on ....then foot brake twice....(keep the foot brake down)....then parking brake twice (keep it down )and repeat till skid light is on the dash.....it will reset when you restart the car"
I don't know if I am retarded or what, but I have tried every combination of playing with the brake and parking brake after starting the car with the parking brake on and I am not getting any results...
It seems that everyone else read these same instructions, ran out to the car, and got it to work. I guess I am missing something. Can someone please break it down for me??? I'd appreciate it...

That's pretty much how it is done
I start the car while pushing parking brake and regular brake
- Hit regular brake twice while holding parking brake..hold the regular brake on the second hit
- Pump the parking brake twice while holding the brake
- Hold it on the second hit and then push the brake pedal twice again
It takes all of about 5 seconds to do LOL.

That helped... got it. I'm not sure what I was doing wrong, but it doesn't matter now I guess.

"The vehicle dynamics integrated management (VDIM) system automatically prevents excess wheel spin and fishtailing. If you deactivate the system by pushing the dash button, the system automatically comes back on after exceeding 30 mph. The overly protective Toyota designers probably did this to reduce our insuance rates, but it's just no fun. If Toyota wants to really compete with BMW, then it needs to allow drivers to make more decisions and assume the risks of driving.
If you wish to temporarily disable the VDIM completely, Toyota programmed a work-around. This "cheat code" will disable the VDIM until the car is truned off.
1. Start the car with the parking brake on.
2. Keeping the parking brake on, push (or tap) the foot brake twice
3. Keeping the foot brake down, push (or tap) the parking brake twice
4. Repeat untill the sliding car warning light appears on the dash
Normally, only two cycles (foot - parking - foot - parking) are required. With practice, you can disable the VDIM in under 4 seconds."

^^ That video sounds like someone who works for Microsoft tech support.

It's also wrong in that it doesn't turn off VDIM... it turns off VSC/TC. VDIM includes several other systems (like ABS) that can't be turned off.

So on an '06 does doing the button disable do the EXACT same thing as the pedal dance from 0-30 MPH? If so, does the pedal dance have a real advantage over the button disavle on a 0-60 dig run? My guess would be no. Hope this makes sense. I'm drunk.
