Default Australian parts source.

I am in the market for new shocks for a 2005 RX330.
Any recommendatiins for an Australian source.
I want to maintain as close as possible to the original ride, not interested in track day options.

Thank you, I am hoping to find something a bit closer. But I will keep Rockauto in mind.

Leeper, just so I understand. You changed the shocks only not the entire strut assembly?

Semi correct.... I changed the "Strut" (part numbers given above) as well as the strut boots as they were torn, I did not change the springs nor the shock mounts. My car has 174K miles on it two of the struts were leaking oil (shot).

Installation - To do so required me to use a spring compressor which several auto parts stores here in the US will loan you free. Many say these compresors are dangerous, I did not find that the case however they did require use of my impact gun to compress them.... removal and reinstall of the strut assemblies was easy, removing and replacing the spring on each strut was not so easy but doable. There's several YouTube vides that show how to do this.... pay close attention to the alignment of the arrows and make sure everything is properly set as one of mine the top hat was not on right, rattled badly when hitting a bump, so I had to uninstall and re-use the spring compresor to get it all set.

Good luck

Using the parts numbers above I see that delivered from Rockauto to Australia the shocks will cost me about $1000. Australian.
Buying the same parts here my best quote has been $1498. So Rockauto wins hands down from that point of view, but when I dissassemble the existing strut and remove the leaking shocks, what if other parts are worse for wear.?
Would it be sensible to buy complete strut assemblies and if that is the case what ones would you recommend as I cannot find ones built around a KYB shock absorber.
Thanks for you thoughts on this.

Mick
