Default Passenger mirror problem

My passenger mirror is only moving left and right. I hear a motor when I press up and down, but there is no movement. Any suggestions? Is my best bet to just replace the whole mirror and motor as one unit?

I'm sorry friend but this is the classic symptom of a failed motor assembly.

The mirror is toast. 🤓

Are there good third party replacements?

I replaced just the motor mechanism. The mirror now works perfectly. The cost was about $100.
