Salim, I agree, oil change isn't bad it is that filter location that makes the process BAD. Using synth. I am considering changing the filter only every other change or about every 9-10k to save the filter change mess that just seems unavoidable.

The annoying thing is lst time I had the dealer change it on the'03 THEY got oil all over and it took days to burn off where normally they somehow clean it all off, maybe they powerwash it and forgot the last time.,

They should wipe the dirty oil off the engine mount (I think that's what it is,) which sits under the oil filter. My local Toyota service tech seemed to have done so. No oil dripping afterwards.

It's not that bad. Granted, changing the oil filter on my E36 BMW was really easy, but the entire oil change itself takes about the same amount of time as my Honda/Acura cars. I see my RX330 as no different. So it takes an extra 2-5 minutes to do a complete oil change job on a Honda or Toyota. That to me is not a big deal and certainly no reason to pass on a vehicle for that reason alone. Besides, what is so hard on a Honda? The oil filter is accessed from the bottom but there is nothing in the way. You jack up the car (Having a lift is even better) and reach up and remove the filter. It really is no big deal since you have to be under the car anyway to access the oil drain bolt.

I changed my RX330 oil filter about a month ago and I'd like to correct one thing. The oil filter of the RX330 IS NOT at the same location as the RX300. On my RX330, the oil filter is underneat of the front engine. You just remove TEN bold and 3 clips(there was a post a while ago with an instruction of how to change oil filter for RX330) and the oil filter is right there. ofter removing the plastic cover, you can remove the oil filter very easily. I found it not that difficult to replace the oil filter as the mater of fact. the hardest part I guess it would be to remove the TEN bolds, but if you have the right size socket then it's very easy to remove those bolds.

Guys i have 2004 lexus rx 330. I just remove my oil filter for oil changed and surprisingly i found oil filter is completely dry. I checked with inspection mirror there is no blockage. Could any body help me why oil is not going through the oil filter. It must be bad for engine thanks in advance.
