Default HIGH pressure psi stuck at 10 bar 146 psi

HIGH pressure psi stuck at 10
what's not working?

Should 250psi or 17 bar right? At 30c

Hi, Based on past experience with other cars, if the Low Pressure is to Low, the AC Compressor clutch won't engage, to keep from damaging the system when it is Low on Freon!
Make sure the Compressor is engaged when You turn on the AC.
If Not then you will have to add some Freon, slowly to the Low side or jumpstart the clutch.
Do Not Overcharge the system.
I would think the Low pressure should be over 10psi on this car, even when the system is at rest.

Good pic and info Nooblex.

It looks like your system has leaked out almost all refrigerant.
Note- when the engine is off and AC is not running, the High pressure and Low pressure will balance out and be roughly the same on the gauges. No refrigerant = no pressures, you have barely any refrigerant. lol

>> Correction, I see your gauge pressures are measured in BARS! SCRATCH what I just said. haha
>> seeing 9 bars is 130 psi for high side.

>> I can't read it due to glare, what is your low side pressure in Bars?

5 bar or 72 psi.
had to bleed out, too much pressure on low side, but the. High pressure drops also...
I think i am screwed, no easy way out of this... Gotta see ac specialist

What are these digits and color circles mean?

Hi nooblex,

Relax, this is nothing to worry about until we have more info.

Reason why is because if the compressor is not running then both high side and low side will start towards balancing out and will eventually have equal pressures.

Next step is to verify your AC compressor is running. You should see the compressor running and the condensor fan near the radiator should be on.

When this happens please post up pics, these are "working pressures" when the AC compressor is running and thats what we need to see.

PS- for anyone following along, NEVER, NEVER stick a hand or tool down in there while engine is running to verify the AC compressor is engaged or suffer injury. Use a visual inspection and hear the compressor click on as an assistants turns on the AC.

Oops, I thought it was PSI, not Bars!
Sorry, my dumb mistake!
But it still looks like this is Static pressure Not Working pressure!
If this is the pressures you are seeing with the engine running and the AC on, then the Compressor must not be Engaged!
Get it Checked Out!

That's what I was thinking too.

Nooblex,

Only if the compressor is running are these pressures an indicator of issues. But I dont think the compressor is running either, I hope not anyway. Lol

Nooblex, we need to see the working pressures with AC compressor running. Please post pressures at raised idle at 1500 rpms too.

Also, the rings on the gauge are for different refrigerants. Our car uses R134a so use that ring to see the pressure, it looks like the outside ring but if not plz let us know.

https://youtu.be/p8WH4VK48g8

Events:
car stays idle for 8 months, no cold air. Leaked out.

Added leakstop with r134a 2 bottles, cool for 2 weeks. Should have properly vacuumed though.
overpressured for sure.
Now
check high pressure at 16 bars, quickly loses pressure.
Vacuum properly 50 minutes, check leak for 10 minutes, all ok, vacuum stays.
add sealer with r134a
Add leakstop with r134a
Added botched up extreme sealer 6ml injection, hardly anything in the system i bet.
Trying to circulate all them goodies, but don't think it goes deeper cuz compressor is dead? Won't circulate?

Humming buzzing noise when ac on

basically give up, gotta see ac specialist and pay up

With ac for 30 minutes outside air intake
and then it switches to inside circulate, why is that?

Hi Nooblex, I dont like the sounds.

Do you see refrigerant escaping under the car?

AC compressors have "pop off" valves to relieve exessive pressure and it sounds like psssh pssh pssh.

But, I dont think that is it because you would have to be overpressured when the AC is running.

I believe, and someone let me know if I am wrong, but sometime after the change from RX330 to RX350 the AC compressor had a redesign.

From what I understand they added a flow control valve on the compressor and it can fail.

Not sure what year it was changed but from what I understand, the valve can go bad and the high side pressure won't pump up to give enough pressure for sub cooling thru the condensor.

Nooblex, as you know, we expect the High pressure side to raise in pressure and the Low side to decrease in pressure when the AC compressor is running.

It is only by these differential pressures that work can be done and cooling is made possible.

I am not seeing evidence that the compressor is running by seeing your gauge pressures but if it is running there is something wrong- and plus the noise is worrying too.
