Guys, I am having a little problem with my 2000 RX300. I realize the lights on the buttons in the center console are out and so is the ****ing lights (NOT THE ONE IN THE GAUGE) on the shift *****. I have checked the fuse but I don't see a blown fuse (OR CAN SOMEONE PLS TELL ME EXACTLY WHICH FUSE TO CHECK) and as I know , these lights are all LED's ? Are they? Will they be hard to change by myself? Anyone can provide me a step by step on changing the lights will be good. I know how to take the console out and everything, just haven't change those LED lights before.
Those are regular bulbs not LEDs. Sounds to me like a fuse or wire if you have more than one bulb out. However....
You need to take out the center "U" wood trim around the console. Carefully pry it out starting at the bottom (use a thin screwdriver with tape on it to prevent scratching). The whole U will then pop out.
You then need to take off the cover housing for the gear lever. You need to put the car in gear (don't forget to put on the parking brake like I did! :-) I think there are 4 clips that you need to unhook, then the cover comes off. You can then access the lights. They are mostly ones that you rotate 90' and then pull out.
