What model MP3 player are you using? I can't read it from the photos.

clarion DXZ815MP i HIGHLY recommend it if you can find one that is! awsome head unit, even controls gains and frequencies sent to your amps

Looks good dude. How did you interface the MP3 player with the stock head unit? What else are you running for equipment?

i disconnected all the stock stereo stuff and started over. The mp3 player has dvd / tv controls / changer controls all that stuff in it. I just put a kicker impulse amp on the mids and highs and a LUNAR amp on some HE2 12's with a 3 farad cap to keep the car running

o ya a side note, this is strange but true. the reason i have the huge caocitor is because when both the amps (mainly the LUNAR) were kickin at really high volume and the car was at an idle the a/c would kick off sometimes. dealer could never figure it out then we realized the amps were drawing so much power the car was shutting down the a/c to recoup for a bit. installed the 3 farad capicitor hasnt happened since!

o and the head unit has a remote so i dont need to adjust anything on the unit itself much. when in park i cant fold the face down to load cd's i have to shift to another gear reverse or further, but i really never want to change cd's when i am in park anyway and with like 150 - 200 songs per disk i dont really change cd's much at all! lol

So, basically, your stock HU is a dead unit just sitting there and everything runs of the new MP3 player?

Default anyone want in-dash radio?

hello all, its been a while! i have since bought a 05 tacoma prerunner TRD sport ed. so i don't spend much time with lexus stuff. i did take out all of my A/V equipment to put in the tacoma including the in dash clarion MP3 head unit. i had to buy a new center piece to put the stock radio back in, so if anyone is trying to put an in-dash aftermarket head unit in there RX and would like the pre-modded center piece i had in mine (in all the pics) just shoot me any email or pm and you can have just cover the shipping.

if someone can use it, i am always wiling to support a new project so just let me know1

happy trails to all

Can you do a diagram on how to remove the radio or the wood grain part? Where's the clips at so I can pry it open
