Alternator Replacemnt
I need to replace my alternator. This may be my second replacement. I’ll look at the brushes later but for now I just want to replace the entire unit.
I think Denzo was the OEM, but it appears to be available in refurbished only (for some reason there are two different Denzo refurbished models both excluding the towing package). Rock Auto has mostly refurbished. They do have a new Remus, and I’ve seen that name on a few sites.
Any thoughts on brands and new versus refurbished?

Denso 210-0439 100 amp
Denso 210-0509 130 amp (tow package)
Sometimes the Denso numbers change up I got the above from Rockauto.com. I have the Denso 210-0509 in my ES300, not much more money and you get cleaner power. You can use either they both bolt right up. If you buy from Rockauto google rockauto discount code you'll get 5% off.

When you are shopping, check if the price quoted includes or does_not_include core prices. If it does [which happens most of the time] you would have to turn in the one you intend to repair later. What you turn in get refurbished and sold later.
I opted to refurbish mon my own buy purchasing the brush set and the diode pack. Bearings on my old, did not need to

Dear Sauidiboy,
I replaced my 2002RX300 at the Hotel while visiting Florida in 2019. i suggest to visit eBay and search for "2001 RX300" alternator. The cost is about $80.00 and free shipped to your home address. It is very simple to replace. To see how it can easily replaced visit "You Tube" and search the item. Good Luck EJ Dossary, EE
I’m in the middle of this right now. I must be doing something wrong because this the most difficult diy I’ve done on my RX300, and I’ve done the full spark plug change. There is virtually no room to work and some of the work is completely blind.
it was easy enough to get the alternator out and reposition the new alternator, but getting the tension bolt back in as well as the second pivot bolt (in front of the alternator) has proved to be a challenge. I’m hoping I can complete getting the tension secured and secure the second pivot bolt to the tension bolt block tomorrow. The back of my hand is pretty beat up.
This has been described as any easy diy, but that has not been my experience.
