Best Car Cover
Has anyone bought a car cover for their vehicle, not just a 1st Gen RX, but any car. Trying to get some reliable insight as to what company is best to go with. I bought one from Carcover.com and in less than 60 days, it is flaking and falling apart. Thanks in advance.
I've purchased several on Amazon. Two were AmazonBasics, (one for the 1998 LS400 we used to have, and one for our Infiniti M35x). The one I got for my RX300 was made by Coverking. All three of these seem to be a little thicker than the version you get at Walmart, although I have had good luck with those too (but they are rather flimsy).
A couple of things to remember, never put the cover on when the car is wet, and if you do, don't pull on it. Don't store it wet. Let it dry completely, fold each side up onto the roof, and then roll it up and put it somewhere until you need it again. Use the grommets to hold it in place, this of course means running a bungee cord under the car; which is a pain. The cover for our Infiniti was just a bit too small to go under the front, so I sewed tie downs to the cover that hook under the bottom of the car. The back fits under the bumper nicely. This stops the wind from beating it to death, but of course if it is storming badly you can't do much about that. We use the RX300 so much now that I don't put the cover on it anymore. I only covered it when I first got it and detailed the heck out of it. We had our RAV4 back then and it was our primary vehicle at the time.
