Polished Graphite Wheels Ruined
Has anyone had any problem with their graphite wheels turning a spotted black after a detail job. The owner of the car wash, used a wheel brite diluted with water to clean and now I am left with a lot of the color gone. The wheels look spotted and streaked with black. The owner feels that the wheels were only "dipped" once?? I do not know anything about wheels and dippings, so any help out there would be appreciated. I will call my dealer after the holiday. Thanks.
Sounds like the owner of the car wash owes you a new set of wheels. Shouldn't have used wheel brite on polished rims. Take a digital pic and post it here.
Sorry about the wheels dude.

The owner sounds like a dumb#$$ that knows he/she did something wrong and doesn't want to compensate you!?!
All you need to clean those rims with is car soap & water!?! I had them on my '01 IS, and LOVED them. They were really "fragile", in terms of everyday driving though. They chip very easily, but look DAMN good!

Wow - a truly horrible experience - I agree, it sounds like the detail shop made the mistake & should be responsible. We've only used soapy water to clean our graphites. I hope you can get compensated by that detail shop, good luck.
