Thread size for oxygen sensor?
I have to replace my front/upstream/top oxygen sensor. I replaced the downstream one a few years ago. It wasn't too bad a job, so I thought this one would be even easier. Ummm… Despite no visible rust, it was an absolute bear to get the sensor unscrewed. Some of it seemed to remain in the female threads in the exhaust manifold. I was able to scrape most of it out, but I still have a little cleanup to do on the internal threads. I have a metric tap/die set, but it doesn't go that large. Do any of you know what size tap I'll need, size and pitch? Thanks in advance!

Well, I found my answer. It looks like the threads are 18 x 1.5 mm. I bought a Lisle spark plug thread chaser and cleaned out the opening in the exhaust manifold. The new oxygen sensor went in a LOT more easily than the old one came out! Hopefully someone will need this info and find it here someday!
