I've got a 98 rx300 that won't get into reverse. Putting it in reverse is like getting in to neutral. Back up lights comes on but the vehicle makes no backward movement. I accelerate and it revs as if it is in neutral. This happened all of a sudden with no sign or warning. Can I get some help?

 

Check the transmission fluid level. Use the cold marking [assuming the vehicle has been sitting for hours].

I would suggest having the vehicle towed to a transmission facility of your choice.

Extreme diagnosis would be replace transmission.

Which ever way you go use Max Life synthetic trans fluid from Wal Mart lowest cost.
You can do a drop and fill about 4 quarts and change your trans fluid Synthetic is far better for the long run.
I got 529,000 and 450,000 390,000 thousand miles on 3 cars using synthetic fluid and none failed also use in power steering change 25,000 miles both trans and PS.
And there is also now life time fluid always change your trans fluid our tyranny's are working much harder in traffic.
I hung out in a trans shop 40 years and I have seen every kind of transmissions ruined also including some that were blue and some if it was welded together.
As it is said around trans shops change your fluid or transmission later.
