Angry Multi V belt replacement

I am trying to find out how to replace the AC/Alternator belt. I am going to be going on a 1100 mile trip, so I really need a diagram as soon a possible. The old belt broke so I have nothing to go by. The power steering worked fine but the AC light was blinking and only putting out hot air. PLEASE HELP!!

The tension is set by the alternator. Loosen the alternator nuts and bolt, loosen the lock nut of the tensioner and then work the long tensioner bolt.

Once the alternator has moved enough you can mount the belt and then tighten in the reverse order.

I use tensioner gauge to set tension. New belt tension is supposed to be set high and after 10 mins of use the belt stretches and there is different spec.

Try the search here.

You can google too.

I don't know how much these can help, but you'll see the belt wraps around the smaller alternator pulley on top and the two larger pulleys on the bottom, seemingly making a triangle. Good luck!

I find it is easier to get at the adjuster bolt with a long extension and through a gap between the passenger headlight and radiator cowl trim. Temporarily pull a few of the left side plastic rivets to make some room to pass the extension.

Thanks for posting this -- it looks so helpful -- can you put it in the DIY section?
