Adding Aux Input - 1999 RX
Hey,
I've been attempting to find some sort of way to add either a direct Bluetooth or Aux connection to my 1999 RX300, but none are compatible that I have found due to the Nakamichi stereo. Is there any that you know of, or any work around I can use to add this functionality? I would prefer not to use a FM Transmitter due to poor quality. I tried to follow a guide to solder and wire it in manually but I got stuck because my connector to the CD changer is different than on the guide. Any ideas?
Thanks.

I have a '99 with Nakamichi and one without. For wiring in my iPhone or an iPod for tunes, I used a GROM adapter for the non-Nakamichi car. It doesn't work with the Nakamichi car. For that one I spent $44 (in 2013) for a PAC iSimple IS77 unit. While technically it is an FM transmitter, it is hardwired into place inside the dash, and the sound is excellent. I wired a switch for it into a dummy switch panel in the center console on the dash. I've been very happy with it.

I use the wired fm adapter too. But mine has an amplifier/adjustment, and between that and the iphone volume setting I can’t find a setting that doesn’t have fuzz or clipping - unless I set it so low that I have turn the Nak volume up so high that it whines from ignition noise.
