Default How do you remove the hood squirter nozzles?

I'm repainting my RX300 hood, but I'm not sure how to get the black squirters off.

The squirters are hidden under the support sheet metal on the back side if the hood.

Thanks for any help !

You guys are a lot of help ! JK

You need to slip a putty knife under the front lip of the nozzle and push in while pulling up. That will release the front clip. Then hold the front end up from re-latching and do the same on the rear lip and the whole thing will pull out.

It seems you were the first to do it in this group.

Please add a link in the DIY index. Dont forget to add thinks like how to protect the paint etc.

Also why a cleaning with a fine wire did not work for you?

I wasn't trying to clean the squirters, I was trying to remove them so I could paint the hood properly. It's all moot now anyhow since I was recently rear-ended and now the whole car is totaled.
