Default Removing hood

Has anyone removed/took off the hood on their GS. It looks pretty straight forward by removing the bolts to the latches and taking off the hood struts but was there any complications removing/putting it back on. I am going to re spray the center portion of my hood due to some clearcoat failure spots and will be taking the hood off to do it.

Yea, its pretty cut and dry. Just make sure you've got 2 people. One thing I remember though is that once you remove the second bolt on either side, dont underestimate the weight of the hood and the angle the hood will move once released. The hood will fall towards the windshield and can crack the window and/or bend the corner of the hood (depending on where it hits)

Just have a buddy help you with the other side, hold the hood up with you shoulder while gripping the top of it with the same hand (where the wiper is).

If you know how to use a ratchet, you can take a hood off.

Thank you for the replies, I will put a blanket on the windshield to protect it.

I am about to do this, does the washer nozzle just pull out of the side where it connects to the hood?

Is there a certain angle you should take the hood off at?

Best way imo is parallel to the ground. Blindly undo the second bolt and just lift up.
