1999 RX300 terrible radio reception new radio??
I love my RX but even with a new well grounded antenna the reception is horrible. it has a LED screen which has all info from temp and milage to the radio stations. i want to replace the radio but don't want to hack up the dash or lose the info panel. Does anyone make a replacement radio that works with all of the factory controls??

Did you replace the antenna with a factory antenna or an aftermarket antenna? The RX has a diversity antenna system and the two antennas (rod and rear windshoeld) need certain electrical specifications to work with the radio's diversity receiver. My RX has great reception on FM.

Its an aftermarket antenna with good connections and good ground. however even with the factory antenna reception was also bad. (replaced it because the plastic gear was stripped) I was hoping to replace the entire radio but cant find one that works within this dash and uses remaining controls.

My FM reception is o.k. AM is full of electrical noise.
These days I mostly stream from my phone to the Grom bluetooth.

Signal levels are also non-standard and serial link [by which all audio equipment communicate] is Lexus proprietary.
CD, tape , FM (within 50 miles) is pretty good on a working unit in RX. I am sure audiophile may have an issue with this, but for average user the sound is above average. [discluding sound issues in a SUV enclosure].
If your radio reception is bad, check antenna, then antenna connections at both ends including ground, and then finally swap the head unit.
