Default Radio Reception

New to the posts here. Have a 99 RX300 and just this week the radio stations are no longer coming in. The antenna works and cd player works fine. Every now and then the radio starts working.

Any ideas? Radio head unit itself or antenna?

Thanks

Welcome to ClubLexus.

You might want to get this shifted to the electronics forum. In my 6 years of following the RX300 forum, I don't recall anyone else reporting this problem.

You are right in that it could be the antenna, the antenna coaxial cable (including connectors), or the radio. I'd guess that the cable/connectors are the most likely, but you need to use substitution to isolate the problem. Plugging another antenna into the back of the radio would seem to be a first step.

My 99 RX300 is having the same issue with radio reception. It’s been cold and icy here the past few weeks and the antenna was frozen for about two weeks. Today with the thaw in the weather the antenna started working again, the reception is still not there for AM or FM.
