Yesterday I noticed this for first time..........
With the radio off, windows closed there was an annoying whining noise. The auto cooling was set to 72 degrees and at that point the inside temperature was right around there. The fan and cooling was just blowing enough now to maintain that temperature. Maybe 1 line of the fan speed indicator was lit.
But the noise was bothersome and when i pressed the cooling system off button, sure enough, no more noise. Has anyone else experienced this? Do you think its worth a visit to service or just one of those
"oh well, thats the way it is" type of situations?
Thanks
PS. The radio was actually not off, just turned all the way down. Now I wonder if it was feedback through the speakers that was audible even with the volume all the way down. Will check it out some more tonight.
Is it the fan motor whining? I noticed that on my 99 when the setting is at one. I bought a replacement fan motor to replace it. I am not sure exactly what it is but it may be brushes against a commutator that is not true. I won't know until I pull it.
