Default Modifying windshield wiper controls

My car doesn't come with a windshield wiper control where you can just push the lever up and it will snap back in it's original place to have the windshield wiper swipe only once. I find myself having to push the lever down and back up when there's a very mute rain sprinkle.

Do some RX300s have this feature as an option? How can I install one on my car?

RX300's do not have a mist function. I recall a member adding it to their 1st gen ES300, so you may be able to find the thread there. At the very least, you will need a wiper stalk from another Lexus with mist. Personally, I don't think it's worth the effort.

I do recall that before I bought my RX300 second hand from someone 2 years ago, I owned a 2002 Toyota Camry then. It does have a mist function.

I have 2 questions:

1.) Why would the RX300 does not have a mist function? From a luxury car, wouldn't you expect it to have one?
2.) Can I get a wiper stalk from a 2002-2006 Toyota Camry or similar Toyota car and transplant it into the RX300?

1) 2002 Camry was the first year for the new redesign, therefore it makes sense for it to have features the RX300 which was first debuted in 1998 (as a 99') doesn't have. My 02' ES300 has a mist function, and auto rain sensing wipers; but the previous gen ES300 did not.

2) I personally do not know, maybe somebody else does. Again, you may find it beneficial to find that thread on the ES forum for how that transplant was done. I'm almost certain there is more involved than just moving over the stalk.

I found the thread you were talking about earlier just simply by Googling "es300 mist function"

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/es-...d-no-more.html

Thanks for pointing me to the right direction. I sense a new project I will be working on!

Now to find a wiper stalk in the salvage yard or order one online, and hope it works.

Once when some one confirms that it works in RX, please add a link.
