Fun in owning a horse is in riding it. If stays in the stable, it may look nice but the owner is simply cleaning the stall.
Enjoy your vehicle.
Mine is stalled [:^)] at 1/4Million miles.

My 2001 Rx has a paper/cotton filter I just bought my last Oct it has a noisy low gear the planetary gears are singing opera and I expect the trans to fail anytime. I did drain the trans 4 times and I used Max Life
synthetic trans fluid bought it at Wall Mart for about $20.00 for a 4 quart jug. it takes about 4 quarts per change costing $80.00 cheaper that a trans fluid change at the dealer or someone's shop. So far no problems
I have been using synthetic trans fluid since 1983 also using it in my power steering unit I got 586,000 miles out of an 1986 Cressida and 400,000 out of an old 1991 Lexus LS 400 still on the road. I use Mobile 1 in my engine changing it at 15,000 miles & nothing ever wore out in any of my cars to date by the way I have put on close to 20,000 on the RX 300 and the tranny is not making any more noise have my fingers crossed. A guy just turned in a 2007 Toyota Tundra with over a million miles same engine and trans using all synthetic oils using from what I heard was 0-20 weight engine oil. Forgot to add I drained my trans thru the drain plug on the trans and bought the fiber washers thru Toyota.

Hi Bill
how many miles do you have on your 01 ? How often did you
change your ATF fluid ? Did your 01 originally come with the paper
ATF mesh filter or the paper filter? The reason why I am asking us
I also have an 01

Purchased used at 175k. Have 180K now. Only the timing belt and oil was changed by previous owner. Its running on original spark plugs, trans oil and gear oil. Going to address those items next. Purchased the auto trans replacement filter and gasket. I was getting 18MPG when I got it. Now at 19MPG average after air filter replacement.
