Default Very bad week

Well she finally has been put out to the pasture. Some of you might recall I have a pretty high mileage RX. It actually might be the highest RX on here, not sure though. 2 years ago my wife decided she wanted something different to drive. I found her a pristine 06 LS430 that she loves. My son was a year away from getting his license so I decided to keep the RX and let him drive it until the wheels came off. Forward 2 years and here we are. On the way to work this week he was involved in an accident. Purely his fault as he allowed his right tires to get off the edge of the pavement. The drop off from the pavement was about 8 inches or so. He over corrected and ultimately flipped the car. By the grace of god he was able to crawl out of the car without even a scratch. He was sore the next day to say the least but I'll take that.
After the car was taken to a body shop of a friend of mine I was able to see it up close. I literally stood and cried from the emotion as I looked at the devastation of the car. I still can't believe he survived this. This car will always have a special place in my memories. Not once did it ever leave a family member stranded. The only issue I had with this car was the transmission. Everything was original except for the alternator and a rear turn signal bulb. I have owned several Toyota and Lexus vehicles over the years and this was the best one by far in regards to problem free. It had 411K miles on it at the time of the accident. He had just gotten the emission test done the day before.
I am thinking about parting out some parts that I can. I know a good portion of the parts are still in good shape. Take a look at the pictures and you will be shocked he was walked away untouched.

Sorry to hear, but glad your son was alright! The RX did it's job, and protected him well.

Thank you. I could not be any more impressed with it's safety.

Glad your son is okay. It was a good RX and it protected your family as its final task.

That is why they call them accidents, Thank God he is alright, that is what really matters, It (the RX) is just a car, no matter how much we become attached to them. Shows the wonderful design of the original RX, as Hypervish said it did what it is supposed to do....

God bless your family and let the RX take the hit instead of your son. Hopefully my rx300 could reach half of your rx300 miles

Glad he's ok. Looks like it was a pretty heavy hit under the front end. Wow...
