Unhappy Wrong O2 sensor???

2003 RX300. Got the trouble code for the Heated O2 Sensor (Bank 1 Sensor 2). Lexuspartsnow.com says I need part number

89465-49075
http://www.lexuspartsnow.com/parts/l...465-49075.html

I believe them so I bought the same exact part from Amazon even though their site says it doesn't fit, thinking the Lexus site will know better.

Amazon.com: Toyota 89465-49075 Oxygen Sensor: Automotive Amazon.com: Toyota 89465-49075 Oxygen Sensor: Automotive

Got it installed fine and cleared the codes but the code keeps coming up every time I clear it. Did I just waste $140? Why would one site list it as fitting and the other doesn't? Could it potentially be another issue?

I will have to go grab the code again at lunch, but my device said "Heated Oxygen Sensor Bank 1 Sensor 2" and that was the only trouble code

some codes that come up could be false positives especially if there are multiple codes displayed. However, there might be a problem with your B1 catalytic converter. Are you experiencing oil consumption? If so, runners off the rear manifold flow to the B1 catalyitic and unburnt oil might be clogging it.

I would first try a long sustained drive to get the catalytic converters nice and hot and see if the code clears itself.

Ok I will try going on an hour drive sometime soon. And just because I forgot to mention it, the check engine and VSC lights are on

Another thought: do you think it could be the circuit back to the ECU causing the issue? And if so, how could I check it?

Also, I'm attaching a photo with the exact trouble code

you should have posted the code to begin with. p0155 is bank 2 sensor 1. You bought the wrong o2 sensor. It calls for the type before the catalytic converter.

This diagram shows it has bank 1 sensor 2

I got it from this thread https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-...el-sensor.html

And this is where I found the part number for it http://www.lexuspartsnow.com/parts-l...rs=89465-49075

let me get back to you, i will verify my manual for location. in either case it should be pointed to an O2 sensor pre-cat.

Edit: OBD2 report codes are standard. p0155 is universally bank2 sensor 1. Top of your front manifold.

The attached pic should only show Sensor 2 [there is no bank implication as it is after the Y].

I got 2 of these.
Both error codes were gone after replacement.
