Cool Brass Running boards?

Anyone ever see gold or brass plated running boards for the RX? I have a white Lexus with the factory gold trim option and a set of brass or gold running boards would look nice, particularly if they use the same plating process used on the new Moen faucets which is guarantee to last twenty years even with abrasive cleansers.

Thumbs down

Ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

And I don't mean this as any sort of personal criticism, because taste is very subjective, but...............

you might as well put neons on your RX....the mental picture I get reminds me of some things I used to read about over on Edmunds Hyundai Sante Fe forum.

But that's just me. I'm not into gaudy or garish.

Wife wants them installed.....not running boards but the tubular side bars with the step indentation on top. It may not look that bad but only if it they are gold.....to match the gold wheels and emblems.. I don't want any black or chrome on the RX.

Easy. Just buy a normal running board, gold plate a chrome one or paint them gold.

I have seen an RX that has what you are looking for. The RX is pearl white and has all gold trim and the gold wheel package along with gold plate holders. The tubes are not the big black obtrusive 3" ones you see such as those on the Eplorer. There are smaller than the Escape version too. They are not running boards ands and do not attach to the outside skin. They attach to the underneath but the mounting points are not visisble looking at the . The are only about 1.5 thick and also not as wide as those on the explorer, oval shaped. When I first saw them I thought it was gold trim along the bottom of the vehicle since they are down below the door a few inches and very close to the body. I wasn't until I was next to it that I realized they were they were tubes. They didn't go the full length between the tires but easily covered both front and back doors. I don't recall any black rubber steps on them either. They looked sharp but I think they will only look good on this vehicle with this color combo.. They would not look right with any other color and without the full gold package..."black and gold is old". Your problem is finding them....I have been looking for these for the Tribute and I haven't seen anything like them in any of the magazines or online sites. I never thought to see if there was a manu. name on them.....I have only seen the RX twice in Conn. I think these may have been custom made (gold plated) and if so ...big bucks....I wanted a black set. I think the gold set looked nice on the RX ...not gaudy....because of their small size. If I see it again I will try to find the brand name without stalking the owner hopefully.
