Default RX300 A/C Compressor Not turning

Hey guys any help would be greatly appreciated

My mechanic cannot come for 2 days for proper diagnosis so trying a DIY fix without experience

My 1999 Lexus is not blowing cold air. The compressor is clutch is not turning when the AC is turned on. The A/C light come on normally and does not blink. i did the hold auto/recirculate diagnostics and it says codes 21,23,42 and 43

I do not know what these codes mean or where to find them??

It appears the 2 cooling fans in the front are not spinning. Would that keep the air compressor from kicking on? I have not had the freon or pressure tested but filled freon recently.

i would like to troubleshoot the electrical/relays In the relay/fuse box in the engine comparment there is a 50 amp heater fuse, I cannot tell if its good, the other fuses I could swap for testing are 60 and 40am fuses. There is a 50am main fuse but I assume I cannot swap that? I also checked the 20 heater amp fuse in the driver side dash compartment and it look good.

I actually had a new compressor installed just 3 years ago. (could have been scammed as my wife handled it the repair)

If you ran diagnostic in a garage (not well lit area) then I would ignore the Solar sensor error.

Pressure switch is a safety mechanism and would disable the engagement of clutch. The switch ensures that there is a minimum amount of refrigerant.

I would have the system vacuum hold tested and then charged again.

Thank you Salim for the information. Yes the diagnostic was done in a covered garage. I just tried to foolishly add refrigerant as I couldnt take the heat but it didnt go well, I forgot to shake the can well and alot of liquid spilled out. I doubt enough would have went in. I wish I could drive this but I have to obtain proper paperwork. I just imported my RX300 to Texas from the Caribbean. It did sit there for year with only a start about every two months. I was traveling alot.

I have severe rust on the rotors from sitting by the ocean a year. and it appears I need the rotors replaced or resurfaced if I am lucky. But I dont want invest in that until I get the A/C working first

The AC system needs the right amount of refrigerant and oil. Lexus recommends not to add additives. With so many videos on the net, folks simply go out and buy (try) getting a recharge can with oil and leak stop.

If you know the history a simple charge with refrigerant may be OK but going blindly may cause more trouble. If the AC has been without refrigerant (had a leak), you have to replace dryer. Before anything, one has to determine if there is leak and that is tested by holding vacuum test. Tracing the source of the leak and repairing it is where the cost goes up.

About rust, you can start a new thread, but Lexus rotors are prone to surface rust (even after a car wash). I would not worry about it, unless you see pits after driving for a few days.

Thanks so much Sir. A/C is working fine after I added another can of freon. The compressor kicked on while while filling up.

This is the second can of freon required in 3 years on this compressor. Likely a small leak somewhere.
Will drive it and and see if those brake pads will remove the rust on the rotors. There arent any
pits or groves just caked in rust.

BTW Houston is the First Generation RX 300 Capital of the world. I see at least one everyday and dont get out much. Amazing how many of these are still on the road, not many 1999 of anyting left. I have never seen on that has been tricked out customized, all stock and were in great shape. Better than mine 8(
