My poor wife finally got to buy her first car a 99 RX300 150.000 miles but ran great got it from a small dealer with a month warranty she loved it and was so proud im on disability was a VW tech for 30 yrs. The second day she had it she came home crying and said the car just wont go and a light came on so I drove it WOW it don't go you can push the petal to the floor and then all of a sudden it takes off like a rocket and then does it again over and over the code is PO172 running to rich so we took it back and ofcourse it wont do it and the jerk dealer just turns off the light i checked the plugs ok its not a miss the trans it dont seem like tranny cleaned the throttle housing very dirty drove it problem gone for 500 miles then same thing same code put in good gas ?? She loves the truck but shes going to get killed in it and its our only car and the warrant runs out on the 27 and I have Parkinson's and a shunt on my brain too run my spinal fluid pressure so I can,t Do alot help lexus my wife was so happy to get it and now so sad but she still loves it

The next time it misbehaves, take note of the brake pedal pressure. Does it seem like the power brakes quit working? If so, then you might have a sticking Oil Control Valve.

I would start by getting a history on the vehicle ... at least you should find what Lexus handled.

If your warranty is about to run out and you have experienced a problem which has not been diagnosed, I would suggest that you either get an extension on the warranty or return the the vehicle. [Not sure if the return is an option].
