Default Exceptional RX300 Handling

On 12/18/02 6:30 PM driving at 60 mph on a single lane hwy in Texas, I was involved in a nasty car accident. A drunk driver who was driving on the wrong side hit the car ahead of me almost head-on, that car went into the ditch I cut hard-right first, then very hard left (to avoid the ditch) and then hard right again to avoid the on-coming traffic. I was able to stop my vehicle 50 yards down. I parked it on the road side and was over joyed to notice my son (17 months) and nephew (14 months) still poking fingers in each others' ears (They were in their child seats in the rear seat).

The drunk driver, the car he hit first and the truck that was behind me all went into the ditch and all of their passengers were driven away in ambulances (drunk driver was injured critically).

During the whole maneuver that lasted for may be 3 seconds (but felt like eternity) RX300 was in control. I could feel that the vehicle was making it easier for me to do what I was trying to do i.e. avoid a collision. I was totally impressed and so was my wife.

I thanked God, my lucky stars and RX300 for being able to walk away from the mess that involved 4 vehicles and 6 injured (2 badly injured) people, with just a minor dent (considering that two other vehicles were totalled).

I just wanted to share this so that the people who are lurking in these boards trying to make up their minds about an RX300 purchase, should have this additional piece of information "RX300 habdled extremely well in an emergency braking and maneuvering situation for me".

I'm glad I bought my RX.

Gald to hear you're all okay...was wondering if your RX is new enough to have VSC?

330wannabe:
My RX is a 2001 model - VSC comes standard on those so does stability control.
