Default Alarm and locking problems

I just just notice that when I press the lock button on my alarm fob the signal lights doesn't come on anymore but it use to, also that the driver door doesn't lock. I would have to turn the key to lock it, then when I push the alarm fob to unlock the driver side doesn't unlock.

Even when I push the lock button on the inside of the door all the other doors lock but not the driver side. Can any one let me help me figure this problem out? This just happen suddenly. I have a 2001 RX300. Thank you.

There is a battery in the Key shell. Replace it and then light in the key lightup when you press a button. The light is the visual feedback that the signal is being sent.

Pleas use the search for instructions.

Lexus parts generally would replace the battery for you (no labor charges .. but do ask).

If you do it yourself, make sure you have the right screw driver and make sure you do not break the shell.

Oh welcome to ClubLexus. Avidreader: Do read the owners' manual, it addresses the question you posted here.

Welcome to Club Lexus!

You need a door lock actuator on the drivers side door. Search on here for how to replace it. There are 3 options: piggyback, motor replacement or replace the entire actuator/hinge assembly.

Once the door lock actuator is fixed, the RX will notify you it has been successfully locked with the blinking of lights and the typical Toy/Lex sound.
