Default help please

my mechanic says i need to replace the bank 1 sensor 1, and bank 2 sensor 1. unfortunately, the lexus dealer wants my retirement account for these parts. i want to order them from lexuspartsnow, but cannot find them on their menu of parts. any help appreciated. any thoughts on using aftermarket sensors, instead of the oem [denso?].

Dont waste your hard earned money on non oem sensors.

Depending on where you live, you are most likely putting $50 worth of gas for a tankful. Paying for the sensors is cheaper than the lost energy from the fuel .. although you dont notice that as it is silently lost.

Please be a bit descriptive in the choosing the title of the thread (I have yet to discover how to edit it).

Salim

You may well need both sensors but I'm wondering how he determined that. It would be very unusual for both to go out at the same time. ONLY Denso! Trust those who know.

i ordered both to have both replaced while it is in the shop. the cost of the part and labor for the second replacement is not great, and, as i live in the country, it is somewhat inconvenient to take it to, and leave it at, the shop. i hope the 2 sensors are the same, as i ordered 2 of the same, from amazon, and had them mailed direcly to the shop.

Someone else can chime in here, but no two O2 sensors are the same on this car...

Both of the sensors that screw into the exhaust manifolds are the same.

In fact you have 2 A/F ratio sensors and 1 O2 sensor. I know the front 2 are more often refereed to as O2 sensors, but that is in fact far from true. The A/F ratio sensors are VERY much different than O2 sensors, though they look very much alike. An A/F ratio sensor costs 2 to 3 times what an O2 sensor costs, and there is good reason for that. Indeed the 2 front sensors (A/F ratio) are identical.
