Replacing rear brake light bulb...socket appears melted.
It rained hard here in DFW the other day, and the morning after I was greeted with a bulb indicator on my dashboard.
When I opened up the rear hatch to access the bulb, I noticed that the harness wasn't secure in the socket, the bulb was 'exploded', and the edge of the plastic socket appears melted.
The new bulb seems to work fine electrically, but I'm unable to properly pace it back in the socket so have used electrical tape to hold in place until I can figure his out.
Does this sound familiar to anyone?
I'll post pictures shortly.
