What Sight of Fail of transmission RX-300 2000, my Car AWD RX-300 2000 .125300 miles Don`t Shift From 3rd gear to 4rd gear ,Transmission Fluid dark,Last time did change of transmission fluid 60000 miles ago, If it transmission Problem, Or Any other problem"

 

I would suspect the transmission is bad...You could drop the pan and check the filter and refill, but are you having any codes? Until you read the codes we can only guess. Sometimes a bad sensor can cause the transmission to not shift into fourth...

 

Any CEL? It could be a knock sensor preventing the car from going into overdrive.

But, damn 60k miles since the last change. That's just asking for trouble...

Do the simple things first, like checking O/D switch on the shifter is working and your display shows it.

As hypervish pointed out, check CEL as various things can make your vehicle go into limp mode. Have the codes (if present read).

You can do a reset by disconnecting the battery for 10+ minutes. That will not help you diagnose the problems.

sorry to say this but this was precisely the problem i was having, before the whole thing just stoped working..at the end it didn't even go into reverse which made it really hard to tow because it was stuck in gear when the whole transmission died. so get it all checked while you can still drive it around ...

 

Hi Can any one recomend a trans rebuilder for a 2000 RX 300,you could hear something pop while driving,then no gears.Checked for codes none,started up had first with alittle throttle kick no second or any other forward or reverse gears.Removed the pan fluid burned,some one and a half inch small metal strips.Iam in Aberdeen NC thanks.Joeym7
