Nav system
I'm a new comer to this forum, and it's marvellous.
I own a rx 2.2 litre, year 99, Jpn specs, parallel import. My problem is the nav system; it's geared for Jpn and not in my country, Malaysia.
The nav system provides lots of data,i.e. the weekly consumption rate, etc, etc. But i can't use any of them since the nav does not work here, including the clock.
I'm looking for help on how to activate and use these data without ACTIVATING the nav system.
any input is appreciated.

You have the hardware.
The software (maps etc.) are for Japan. I am almost sure the GPS satellites would be broadcasting signal above Malysia. There is NO ACTIVATION required. Check with Toyota dealer if the CD or DVD map data is available for your model of RX.
Pardon my ignorance but are there any vehicles in your city that have working Nav?

Hi salim,
thks for the input. However, we do not have a lexus dealer in malaysia , hence the parallel import.
I'll try to ask the dealer in Singapore .
thks again
