sticking parking brake
2000 RX 300, 175,000 miles.hammering from right rear wheel, increasing with frequency.Removed road wheel and brake caliper. Disc woudl lock solid when rotated forward 5 degrees, free backwards. Removed brake disc, parking brake linings thin [wear limit?] lots of brake dust. Backed off the star wheel self adjuster, disc turns free. Not a cure but a band aid. Parking brake cables sticking ? Are there any lube fittings on the cables [?] Anyone had a similar problem?
Thanks
Brian

The cable is in segments, try to isolate which portion is not working freely.
After making certain that the cable is not frayed or the sheeting is not damaged, only apply dry graphite lubricant... Any wet grease is a Resist the temptation for reaching out for WD40.
There is no limit on words in your post, so feel free to write in details. Rambling is perfectly fine and preferred [we dont want to miss out pertinent details].. Welcome to CL
