Do I need to change my power steering fluid?
It appears black in the reservoir but the power steering works fine. Last service at Toyota recommended changing it and these guys usually give me the thumbs up inspection. Per my records, it was last changed at Lexus 75,000 miles ago with a BG Flush for $157.
Do I really need to do this? For some reason I never considered it important like motor oil, tranny fluid, coolant, brake fluid etc. I don't even know how I let Lexus charge me that, I must have had some walkin' around money at the time. And if I do it, is a flush appropriate? Finally should the fluid be ATF Dexron III? The Lexus receipt does not indicate whether ATF was used.
Thanks.

There is a DIY. No sense in just giving away money.
Easiest is to use a turkey baster [I use marinate injector] to suck the fluid out of the reservoir and just fill it up with Mobile1- synthetic ATF ... [ Just did that yesterday].
