Default Maintenance for rx300 99 AWD with 150k miles?

hey guys so im wondering besides the typical stuff(brakes, oil, air filters) what i need to do or "should" be done.

i assume everything is outdated because the previous owners didnt do alot of car care, paint is all messed up and seats are torn, they had kids. nuff said

things that have been done:
-cabin filter
-engine air filter
-oil change
-brakes

so i was formulating a list of things that need to be done

-Transmission drain/fill

what else do i need? and do i really need to do that tranny pan drop? looks like its more intrusive than i want to get.

I would do the pan drop, and check filter with your drain and fill....It really is an easy job. Was the timing belt and spark plugs done before you got it?

Have you changed the brake fluid? I know you mentioned brakes but without clean moisture less fluid, you won't have the best braking performance possible.

Grab a turkey baster from the kitchen and start changing the power steering fluid. Use Mobil 1 ATF. If you prefer changing all of the fluid in one shot, look at the DIY on this forum.

To be honest, I haven't dropped my transmission pan yet. And, it's been over 100k miles since I bought the car. I just drain and fill every 15k miles using Castrol Transmax IMV. I do want to drop the pan and check just for curiosity reasons, (ie. see how many shavings are there), but I won't do it now till at least another 12k miles, cause I just changed the ATF a few weeks ago.

Since it is AWD, I suggest changing the transfer case and rear differential fluids.

we are up in newengland and alot of the time bolts on the underside of the car are rusted so badly you cant get them off. so i dont want to mess with the tranny pan. i would assume unless the car threw a CEL or didnt start, the people that owned it just did oil changes and brakes. so unknown on the sparkplugs and timing belt.

Hit the bolts with PB blaster. soak for a few days and tackle it. As for timing belt and spark plugs they should have been done around 125k miles. Maybe remove top cover on timing belt and take a look...

If your timing belt and spark plugs had not been replace yet, at 150k, you should stop driving it and have those 2 taken care of, specially the timing belt, if it broke then you will spend more $$$ fixing the whole engine. It's a mess!

Definitely get the timing belt done ASAP, this is an interference motor. Usually at the time of replacement they put a sticker on the cover to say it's been replaced, check to see if it's there. If not, get it done.

As far as the spark plugs, you might as well get them done at the same time as the timing belt. But, in case the timing belt is already done you can wait to do the plugs if you wish to.
