Question Oil sludging

Hello everyone I was recently cleaning out the engine bay and removed the plastic engine cover and there is brown oil residue all around the oil cap and inside the cap hole it looks like there is burned on oil and on the bottom of the cap too. It looks rust colored, my rx has 130,000 miles and my oil has always looked like it just came out of the bottle, could this be a sign of sludging or oil problems or just normal oil spurting up to the cap and drying?

From what you describe, I'd say that is normal. I have been regularly using quality oil, changed regularly, since new and I have the same thing (baked on oil on the oil filler cap and anti-splash baffle.

Yep pretty much normal...The only true check of sludge is to pull front valve cover, but we all have had that crust. After I changed to 0-30 German Castrol oil the crust dissappeared....
