What does the "RX" stand for?
Just a guess but the "X" refers to the X that would be in between the 4 and 4, as in 4 X 4.
Four wheel drives used to be called "four wheel drives", then came 4 x 4 and "four by", then 4X, now it has been stripped down to just and "X".
Yes, the RX, LX and GX come in 4X2 models, but you get the picture.
