Welcome to the Club.

You most certainly can go to 235-70-16 with ease. I did so back in 2002 and have kept that size ever since. No modifications necessary to do that.

BTW, one of my best friends is from Sudan, whom I met in college, so it brings a special joy to me to see someone from there.

Just an fyi, it may give out wrong mph readings and miles driven on the odometer because of the bigger tires. Not a big deal but just a heads up from what I've read.

Yeah, even with the regular size tires, the mph is off by 2. Which is normal.

Jumping in here late as I only joined recently(about 1 month)

1) My MPG on the center dash screen(in which I reset at each fill up) always reads ~1 mpg higher than my calculator reading. It's always been this way since new, with the OE Integritys and now the G/Y ACT's.

2) I thought about installing 235-70-16 on my wife '01 RX but, I really didn't think that the 235's would fit properly in the rear and the 235's sidewall would rub up against the strut, as I can bearly now fit my index finger between the tire sidewall on the 225 and the strut. So, I stayed with the 225. I couldn't find(4 yrs ago) anyone that had tried to go larger/wider.

Oh well, it's all good! Maybe the next set of tires, I'll try the 235's. I have been entertaining the thought of Michelin LTX M/S 2 as I have just recently introduced a buddy and his wife to these tires and they love'em
