HID to Halogen conversion?
If the RX is stock you can ask the dealer/Lexus customer service to decode the vin for you and they should be able to tell you how the vehicle was equipped at delivery.
Color is just one indication but there are hyper white halogen which emit white light. HIDs sort of flicker on and there is a self leveling check in the instrument cluster [more details as in the owner's manual]. 2000 was the first year when the HID option was made available. The lens had a distinctive greenish hue.
The projector (lens assembly) is more complex has leveling motor and the focus point is different which makes interchanging more complex.
