Default Is this a good deal?

After everyones advice, I have convinced my wife that we should purchase a 2001 or newer rx. The closest dealer to us is Omaha, and they have 2 dealer used rx's with 16k on them, and will sell them CPO for 34,550 or non-CPO for 33,380. Are these prices good. They seemed a little high to me. Also lexus has 4.9% for 66 months on CPO vehicles. Do you all think this deal will surface again when the new rx comes out early next year?
Thanks!

Too High. You should be no-higher than 27K on an 01, seeing as though the 2003's are starting to hit. I paid 30K in November of last year for a CPO - 2001 with 3,247 miles on the ODO.

I figured it was too high, but being in the midwest there are not many options for me, and all the dealers charge whatever they want, and actually brag about this?. No competition I guess. My wife wants a mineral green one, without Nav. Has anyone seen a 2001 with prices below the 34K price range I can find here in the "sticks". I only have Minneapolis and Omaha to choose from now. But traveling would be fine to get a deal.

Do you all think this 4.9% on CPO for 66m will return?

Depends onhow bad you want one. Considering the color (relatively rare) you're seeking, you could pay an extra 500bucks or so and have one shipped from outside of the area. Thing is you would probably have to arrange for your own financing, and also go on not seeing this vehicle in person. Going with a reputable dealer would probably negate the former. Who know's maybe they'll include shipping in the deal.

Those prices are way too hight for used RX300s!

I bought my '01 RX300 AWD(everything, including navigation system)
for "only" $40,250. It was the second updated RX300 received.

My neighbor just bought brand new one, identical to mine except in color, for
$39100.

When I bought my Lexus, I was currently living in Philly (1999). The local dealers would not give me a deal. I ended up buying my RX3 in California and paid $800 for shipping. I bought a 2000 for $1500 above invoice of the car.

Based on todays economic conditions and 2003 are just around the corner, you might be able to swing a good deal. When calling the dealer, ask to speak to the Internet Sales Manager. These indivduals are not restricted on how to make a sale compared to other sales managers.

Mineral green is the color of my RX. Actually my daugther (10) pick this color, I would suggest you to get a brand new one for the price you're paying. Putting more down payment will bring
down your monthly car note. One more thing, it is best to get
a car loan with the Credit Union bank for better deal when it comes to financing.

The new deal. 2.9% on CPO for 66m. My credit union can only give 6.5%. Both are zero down. The dealer will sell a 2001 rx with 36k miles for 31,000 CPO. Not any lower, should I wait until next year for falling prices?

My wives dilemma.

Trade in her jeep lease early and loose out on that money to save with the CPO 2.9% financing, or wait until next year when the redesigned rx comes out and look for a deal? her lease expires in 6-months.

Default Wait...

The Jeep dealer will take your happiness if you break the lease. So my suggestion is to wait for 6 months and buy the RX after 6 months. Whether you want to buy the new RX or the Old model is your decision but I would suggest going in for a new car. I would be vary of someone that turned in a 2001 back to the dealer.

In that case you might want to wait until the new model comes out. No use in loosing money unless you utterly desire to do so. You may have to be a little patient at first with the introduction of the new model as I'm sure they are going to ask for all they can at first. It really all depends on how many units are available. Short supply + high demand = premium pricing - I doubt they will be willing to go much below MSRP, with many asking for the amount reflected on the addendum. Unless equipment has been added that is not reflected in the OEM sticker - I never, ever, even discuss the addendum. IMO: it does not apply.

My CPO with 3247 miles had a window sticker for 36K, was also listed on the internet for 34.5K. I told them I would not pay more than 30K. I let them know If they couldn't work the math, I would go to another dealer and get the deal I wanted - or wait. I did end up leaving the dealership, but they called me inside of 30minutes and accepted my offer. Remember the end of the month is good time to buy to as a lot of times the sales team is under pressure to move a certain number of units - some get blown out - to your advantage.

Ok, I am going to make an offer.

2001 rx300, White, no navigation, new aftermarket tires (brand?), CPO, tan leather. gold emblems, 46k miles one owner who traded it in for a 2003 rx. I am thinking 29K to offer the dealer at the current CPO rate of 2.9% for 66m is this price to high?

AWD or FWD? If AWD, I'd say $27000 is the fair price.
