Default Buying

Hello, my name is Danny, and I am 18 Years Old, I have 19,000 Dollars USD, and want a new car, I am a pretty big guy at 6'3". I am the previous owner of a BMW 1995 318ti (Sport Compact) and want something beefier with a bigger engine still maintaining a good fuel economy about a V6, having been an owner of a BMW I am used to problems, but since this a Japanese car, I am hoping to spend my weekends at a place other than the mechanic, i really like the rx300 never even having sat or driven in it. I am going to buy it used probably a 1999, I have been to two dealers, one who i know very well, gave me a price of 18,200 with 2 dings, 45,332 miles, navigation, sunroof, and its silver, I am asking of you guys, for a honest opinion of the vehicle, overall, feelings about feature, what is necessary, and what would be nice to have in a lexus. what i can do to the vehicle, considering i dont like the stock wheels, and want to put a lot of stuff on it over time. but first I would like to know what you like and dislike. I have been lurking around for a little while, and haven't too many complaints which i am happy about. this is my first post, dont go too rough on me please.

thanks,
-D

First of all welcome to CL RX300.

Please please, test drive RX (for that matter any vehicle you intend to buy) as the overall appeal is a whole lot subjective and depends upon personal taste. Since you are moving from a sporty car, handling of RX may or may not appeal to you.

Scan throug old threads (just 15 days old) and you will find a lot of information that you seek. This is not to cut you short, but to prevent re-hashing of same issues.
